Club Adviser: Hanna Schofield
[email protected]
Meeting Times and Locations:
Yearbook does not have a regular meeting time, but instead students can
meet with Ms. Schofield during flex to work on building spreads, or they
may take photos at various school events.
Club Description:
Any
student is welcome to be a part of the yearbook club. All year long
students work to take photos and build spreads for the yearbook. The
yearbook goes to print in mid-April and then planning starts again for
the next school year.
Students
have the option to earn community learning hours through their work or
they can put in enough hours to earn a free yearbook.
Senior Photo Information
Senior year students are able to submit a photo of their choice for the yearbook. Students can choose to have their photo taken professionally or, with the advancement of cell phone cameras and cameras in general, students are allowed to take and submit their own photo.
John Stark uses Geskus for all of our school photo needs and this includes the option for Senior Photos in the yearbook. Geskus offers options for sitting fees at their offices, so please feel free to hear the options.
Geskus Appointments: Appointments should be scheduled at: https://www.wearegeskus.com/seniors
Please know that you are ultimately under no obligation to pay anything for a senior portrait.
OTHER INFO:
-Photos are due NO LATER than Monday, November 27th. This is a hard deadline and we cannot guarantee photos submitted later will be in the yearbook.
-Photos must be color and portrait orientation. They should be submitted in jpeg format on CD, flash drive or via email.
-Students that are taking their own photo are encouraged to submit them as soon as possible so we can make sure the quality of the photograph/file will work in the software.
OTHER PREFERRED PHOTOGRAPHERS:
In the past, many seniors have selected other professional photographers to take their senior photos. Below is a list of approved vendors who are familiar with our yearbook specifications. Please feel free to contact them and hear about their packages and pricing options.
If you have a professional photographer in mind, please email the name and contact information to the Yearbook ASAP so we can contact the studio to arrange the release rights of the photo for print in the yearbook.
It is our desire to have the best quality yearbook possible while making sure every senior has access to a professional quality photo for their Senior Portrait.
